Our Governors
Our governors work hard to fulfil their responsibilities to parents, children and staff. They are fully informed of all aspects of school life and actively promote high standards of care and achievement.
School governing bodies are responsible for working with the school to ensure that it delivers a good quality education for all children. Together with the Head Teacher, who is responsible for day-to-day management, they set the school's aims and policies.
The Governing Body does not make decisions about the day to day running of the school – it is a strategic role. Governors help set the overall aims and objectives for the school and set the policies and targets for achieving those aims and objectives. They monitor and evaluate the progress the school is making and act as a source of challenge and support to the Head Teacher.
Springwell School governors have a wide range of experience, skills and abilities. The school is able to draw on the expertise of our governors which include members from the parent population as well as commercial communities.
The full governing body meets once a term. Sub committees meet regularly and report back to the full governing body.

Meet The Governors 2023-2024
My name is Risha Duggal-Bhachu, I have two amazing daughters who both attend Springwell School. They are my inspiration and strength to want to provide the best future for them. I am a parent reader at the school and also offer a helping hand on school trips. As a Parent Governor, I am committed to giving our children the best stepping stone into their future. I am passionate about ensuring each and every one of our children has the best opportunity to flourish and develop as the incredible individuals they are, in a school that provides them with the skills to progress in life. As a part of the governing team, I am able to assist the governing body from a parent’s perspective. I am able to support the other governors to ensure all our children and future Springwell children are able to reach their full potential whatever their background or ability, in an environment that forms strong school-parent partnerships.
My Name is Divya Singh and my son is in year 3. I am quite keen to join the governing body as my Husband and his family and friends have attended this very school. I would love to help the school bloom to the fullest. This school holds a special place for all of us.
I have Masters degree in Clinical Psychology. I worked as a primary school teacher for 5 years(2010-2014) in India. This school also worked with special needs students. I have worked with an NGO for women and children with special needs for a year. After marriage I moved to London. Here I have worked as a sales associate and Nursery nurse.
I have been actively involved with the school as a parent by volunteering in all the trips and as a parent reader. If given a chance I would like to bring my knowledge, skills and experience of working with children/ special needs students to the school. I love working with children and would love to help mold a better future for them.
My name is Uday Bose and it is a great privilege to be the Chair of our Governing Body. I have been an active supporter of governance at the school for many years and all three of our daughters have enjoyed many happy experiences as students of the school. As a parent, but also as a member of the community, supporting the school has always been an ambition. We live in such a diverse area and what I see in the world around us is that the more we teach our children about the importance of equality, integrity, acceptance, kindness and ambition, the more likely it is that we can live together in harmony with deep respect for each other. These are our schools values and with these we are able to live our motto which is to aspire, create and achieve.
My name is Raghav Ghai, “I was born and grew up in Heston and my parents still live here. I am strongly motivated to participate in my local community and feel I am best placed to do that by volunteering as a governor. I benefitted first hand from the fantastic experience I had at my primary schools in Heston, where I was encouraged by teachers to push myself. I went on obtain my GCSEs and A-levels at Hampton School going on to read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University and am now a partner in international law firm, Simmons & Simmons.
It is my due to give back to the community and education system that nurtured me – throughout my teenage years I contributed by volunteering in youth club programmes as a supervisor, at Heston Community School classes for those with special needs and by working part time tutoring children. Now I would like to use my professional skills, experience and network to protect and drive the successes of Springwell School. My wife and I have an infant daughter and son. I see their faces in the bright and energetic pupils I meet at Springwell, pushing me to work harder!”
My name is Sunil Aggarwal, I am a resident of the local area for nearly 30 years and both my daughters have been at Springwell through their infant and primary years of education. These years at Springwell have been instrumental to them both flourishing at secondary school As a qualified chartered tax advisor and accountant, I run a local firm of accountants and advisors to help individuals and businesses stay ahead of their statutory and regulatory obligations in a friendly proactive and professional manner. I wanted to give something back to the school for all the support they have provided our daughters by lending my accounting and financial support and advice as part of the Governing Body of the school.
My name is Sadia Mukadam, 33 years ago, I started at Springwell School under the watchful eyes of then Headteacher Mrs Hogg. I have gone on to law school and my education has opened many doors for me. I was admitted as a Solicitor in 2007.
My son is in year 4 and my family and I have a long commitment with Springwell School.
As any parent, I want the best for my son; I want him to be happy, confident, safe and have the best start in life. I want to support the school and to help the school grow from strength to strength. My profession has trained me to ask questions and scrutinise where necessary and I look forward to continue being on the Springwell governing board for the foreseeable future. Knowing that I am supporting the school (and the next generation) is a truly rewarding experience.
My name is Rebecca Holmes and I am a co-opted governor. I began working at Springwell in September 2007 and became a governor in March 2022. I moved to Hounslow after finishing university and spent many years living here and have a good understanding of the area and the variety of cultures that make our community thrive.
I have worked in many year groups ranging from Reception to Year 6 and this gives me a strong understanding of what the curriculum within the school should look like and the progress our children should be making. Being a governor allows me to ensure that all of our children are achieving successes personal to themselves.
As a committed governor and member of the senior leadership team I have worked to ensure that our schools strategic plan moves the school forward and that the values are always at the forefront of our school’s mind.
I'm Glenn Barnett, A Co-opted governor I have worked at Springwell School since February 2001. Commencing my journey as a School Governor in 2005, I initially served as an Infant School governor. In 2009, I expanded my involvement by joining the Junior governing body, maintaining a consistent presence on the governing body ever since.
My deep connection to Springwell extends beyond my governance role; my son progressed from reception to year 6, achieving significant success both academically and emotionally during his time here. A lifelong resident of the London borough of Hounslow, I've called Heston home for the past 30 years, fostering a sense of community belonging.
Drawing on my background in health and safety, I concurrently serve as the school site manager, overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the school site. This responsibility seamlessly aligns with my role as a governor, allowing me to contribute meaningfully to the school's overall well-being and success.
My name is Charine O’Shea and I am the staff governor. I began working at Springwell in January 2007 as a newly qualified teacher. I moved to Hounslow with my husband after finishing university and have lived happily. Living in Hounslow has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of our community.
I became the staff governor for Springwell Infants and was a member of the temporary governing body during the amalgamation process. I was then lucky enough to be chosen again as the staff governor for Springwell School.
My extensive experience in early years means that I have a good knowledge and understanding of the strong foundation needed to embark on each child’s school journey. Being a governor allows me to ensure that each child’s starting point is secure and that they move forward, make accelerated progress, and ensure that they become the well-rounded Springwell Student who encompasses all of our values.
