The School Day

The school day starts at 8.40am with a soft start approach enabling children to quickly settle and be completely ready as lessons start at 8.50am. During the first part of the day teachers welcome their children and address any learning or pastoral matters. Punctuality is key to children’ learning and at Springwell we make sure that learning starts promptly.

All children have a morning and lunch break. We are very keen that children have a healthy structure to their day and encourage/promote health and fitness activities during lunchtimes in addition to regular 2 hours of Physical Education and Sports.

The school day finishes at 3.20pm with many children attending after school clubs or participating in outside clubs and activities.

During the year the children participate in several activities beyond classroom teaching. These include; workshops, performances, music, curriculum trips and special events such as science week, international week, book week and residential trips.
